Nothing is more relaxing than taking a bike ride. However, our streets are riddled with automobile drivers which pose a great danger for cyclists. According to the National Highway Safety Association, “bicycles on the roadway are, by law, vehicles with the same rights, and responsibilities as motorized vehicles.” Nevertheless, cyclists are still disregarded and are often not even seen until it is too late to avoid an accident.
Amazingly, some drivers may not even realize they struck a cyclist and drive away. Oftentimes, drivers will blame the cyclist even though the cyclist had the right of way. Fortunately, technology is helping cyclists solve these liability disputes. The solution is quite simple. Buy a helmet camera.
